The Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism in cooperation with the Balkan Pearls Tour Operator organized for the students of the Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT), a historical-cultural tour that included southeastern Albania, such as Korca, Pogradec, Tushemisht, Lake Prespa and parts of northern Macedonia such as Struga and Ohrid.
Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the cultural heritage, historical center, monastery and castle of the old town of Struga and Ohrid. Just enjoyed the wonder of Lake Ohrid and the water museum “Bone Bay”. Also on the second day the students visited the beautiful city of Korca, the old Bazaar, the Albanian First School , the Cathedral, museums, etc , to close with the tourist village of Pustec by Lake Prespa.
An important part of the tour was a visit to the University “Fan S. Noli” in Korça, where students and professors of CIT, hosted by representatives of UNIKO, had the opportunity to share their experiences on the learning process and get acquainted with the facilities of the university.
IETT considers such events as necessary for students, because in addition to discovering and recognizing tourist sites of historical and cultural importance, they contribute to the development of students’ organizational skills and the strengthening of knowledge.
