โ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐๐ฉ๐จ ๐ช๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐๐๐ ๐ค๐ฉ๐๐๐ง, ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐ค๐ข๐ข๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ, ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ง๐ฎ, ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐ฌ๐ค๐ง๐ก๐ ” – Lisa Brochou, Associate Director of the USAโs National Association for Interpretation (NAI), held a hugely inspiring keynote speech at the last day of IE conference. Lisaโs keynote address, ‘๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐’, showed how those of us living and working in heritage communities might find inspiration to rebuild more sustainable operations in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moderated by Valya Stergioti, IEโs Training Coordinator the final day offered impressive presentations, workshops, thematic table rounds, glass cases, speakers corner and many more activities.
IETT was part of a very interesting workshop by Janja Sivec, managing director of NGO Legends (Slovenia) on the topic: ๐๐ช๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ โ ๐พ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐ช๐๐ก๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ง๐ ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐จ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ข๐ข๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐จ. This workshop helped to recognize and evaluate our heritage and gave ideas on the interpretation of their uniqueness.
Very inspiring was also the presentation of Manuela Hvratin, IE Country Coordinator (Croatia) on the topic: ๐๐ค๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฅ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ: ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ฉ ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐๐๐๐ฉ. This multi-award-winning project showed the challenges (and solutions) in involving the local community in heritage interpretation.
Through gamification, storytelling, living history performances and many other heritage interpretation methods, Istra Inspirit revives numerous Istrian myths, legends, stories and traditions.
At the conclusion the manager coordinator of the Conference, Nuria Mohedano (Spain) made a Revelation of the conference destination 2021, through a very interesting interpretation. Followed by a closing event of IE managing Director, Helena Viฤiฤ (Slovenia).
Four days full of workshops, presentations, round table talks and inspiring insights into some of the places people come from. With 166 attendees from 36 countries, including all continents, the conference was a great success.
