Created in the framework of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Albanian army, this museum reflects the most significant military events and expresses the identity and development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.
The weapons museum consists of three pavilions: the historical era pavilion, the pavilion of the communist period and the pavilion located outside the museum.
The historical era pavilion begins with the period of Skenderbeg, featuring the wooden mace from the 15th century used during Skenderbeg’s time, as well as various weapons from that period. In addition to its historical value, this pavilion is a living testimony of Albanian craftsmanship, showcasing the 1900s koburs, which stand out for their decorations.
In the communist period pavilion, there are weapons, berets, technical communication equipment, military uniforms and tents from this period. There are also many museum objects from the Albanian naval fleet.
Meanwhile, the pavilion on the outside of the museum includes heavy weapons, such as: planes, helicopters and tanks.
For almost 8 years, the Museum of the Armed Forces has been located within the premises of the Ministry of Defense.
