The thermal springs of Bënja are a rare natural phenomenon with very high curative effects. They are located 14 km from the city of Përmet, in the municipality of Petran.
In this place there are four thermal springs that treat rheumatism problems and two others, one for all skin problems and another for stomach health. So, there are six springs in total, two of them have a larger area, located at the foot of the Kati Bridge, while the other springs are stone tubs.
The baths have become a year – round destination for those use spring waters with a high sulfur load and extremely curative properties. The waters cure several diseases and are quite veritable especially during the summer period when the highest pint of attendance is reached, but also during the cold seasons, when the temperature drops to 0 degrees. You can enter the stone baths filled with hot natural water.
The waters have been studied from an analytic – scientific point of view and from the chemical content, where they turn out to be waters like sulfate sources, with a high content of sodium bicarbonate. According to researchers, these springs are special, not only are they hot waters, but they contain dissolved mineral substances with great therapeutic properties.
