The monograph “The Osmani Family from Tërstena” was prepared for publication by the Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT) and was printed in the Publishing House “Mileniumi i ri” in Tirana.

This monograph testifies to the history of the migration and movement of the Ottoman family from one place to another, first from oppression and pressure and later following the paths of life. This book also represents an important step for those who want to continue with further research to complete the information about the Tërstena family. The limited existence of materials and historical evidence about the massacre and expulsion of the Ottoman family has made the research about the monograph leave room and be enriched with later research and studies.

In the years 1877-1878, the Osmani family, together with 78 thousand Albanian families with 350 thousand inhabitants, were expelled from the village of Tërstena, the region of Sanxhak i Nish, by the Serb invaders. The Albanian inhabitants were massacred, expelled and drowned, leaving them no chance of survival.

With this Monograph, the co-authors Islam and Hysni Osmani, as if raising a monument to the large generous and noble family, of both branches, the Lisocks and the Hajkobills, moved to Gjilan, Pristina, Kamenica, Skopje, Tirana, Turkey and elsewhere.
