The Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism, IETT in cooperation with the University “Fan S. Noli” and the Museum of Medieval Art, Korça organized an online workshop on “Cultural Heritage and its revitalization” with three sessions.

The meeting opened with a greeting from Dr. Alma Zhilla, Lecturer at the University of Korça, to be followed by a presentation by Mrs. Anisa Hykaj, Heritage and Tourism Coordinator at IETT.

Mrs. Hykaj spoke about the vision of the Institute, its objectives, participation in national and international activities as well as international organizations of which IETT is a member. She paid special attention to the importance of cooperation for each institution or individual who expresses the desire to implement a project for the benefit of the community.

The second presentation “Cultural heritage, our passport to Europe” was given by Dr. Alma Zhilla, who highlighted the tourist attractions, part of the cultural heritage as well as the challenges they are facing to be revived after the situation created as a result of Covid-19.

Part of the panel were also Mrs. Fjoralba Prifti, Director of the Museum of Medieval Art and Mrs. Enis Gjanci, Art Specialist and Guide at this museum, who brought a presentation of the Museum’s policies, the challenges it faces, what this museum represents and how much interest the visitor has in what it offers. Measures taken to protect the visitor were also presented.

Participants in the sessions were, Mrs. Majlinda Laçaj, Director at the Regional Directorate of National Culture; Mrs. Ledina Agolli, Head of Tourism Marketing Department, UNIKO; Dr. Mirela Tase, Dr. Dorina Xheraj and Dr. Viola Plumbi, lecturer at the Department of Tourism at UAMD, Durrës, Prof. Esmeralda Kromidha, Prof. Drita Rira, Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Tirana; Mrs. Gladiola Caka, specialist at the Ethnographic Museum, Berat; Mr. Ledio Xhoxhi, researcher at the National Historical Museum in Tirana, etc., who shared their thoughts and experiences in the field of heritage, museology, tourism.

Also present and very important were the students of the branch of business administration in tourism at UNIKO, who followed closely and asked questions to the present lecturers.

This workshop helped to recognize and appreciate our cultural heritage, on ways that can serve in preserving, promoting and revitalizing them.
